iStorage Server: iSCSI SAN and IP SEC

iSCSI and IP SEC

This white paper shows how set up a Secure iSCSI Target under Windows IP Security Policies (IPSec) environment by using KernSafe iStorage Server.

IP Security is used for securing network by authenticating and encrypting each IP packet during every session. This enables that every computer using IPSec is able to identify each other. Thanks to that network connections are secure. It will be shown using Windows Server 2003, but the process itself is very similar on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.

Simultaneously, this white paper demonstrates how to use two security methods in iStorage Server - CHAP and IP Address authorization mechanisms and how to configure IPSec on both client and server side.
