Create iSCSI Target which linking to another CDP device

CDP device allows for constants data protection. That means user can restore data from any given point in the past - since data is contently backed up, there is no need of creation additional backups. Here user can choose to create a CDP target which is linked to already existing target.

Creating CDP Linked Target Device

Follow the steps below to create a CDP Linked Target device:

Step 1. Click New button on the top toolbar of the management system, then the Create iSCSI Target wizard popup up.

Choose Advanced Device in the Device Type group.

Press the Next button to continue.

Step 2. Select the CDP Linked Target device in the iSCSI Advanced Device window.

Press the Next button to continue.

Step 3. Configure CDP parameters

Chose your base target from list already existing ones.

In Time Point please choose the point in time to which you want to revert the current target. Then such target will contain data that was stored in the base target at that given time.

Press the Next button to continue.

Step 4. Finish Creating iSCSI Target

Select an authorization mode, if you don't know how to it, you can see the topic Authorization Mechanism.

Global Authorization: Indecate target will inherit authorization information (CHAP and IPFilters) from global, otherwise target will have its own authorization information.

Concurrent Access: Indicate target allow concurrent read-write operations.

Report Readonly: Indicate target will report as read only device if initiator don't have write access.

Press the Finish button to complete iSCSI target creation.
