KernSafe iSCSI SAN 4.0 extends the platform that was established in versions 1.x through 3.x, including support for x86, x64, and Itanium-based Windows systems as well as Windows clustering, Hyper-V, Linux, Solaris, Citrix XenServer, and VMware ESX Server.

Version 4.0 introduces a redesigned management experience together with advanced target capabilities such as Multiple LUNs, software RAID5, and Datacenter mode.

1. New software interface

The new KernSafe iSCSI SAN Management Console lets administrators manage targets, advanced targets, CHAP users, groups, and related storage settings from a single main window.

For example, when you select a target, its property pages appear in the lower pane, where you can review general information, inspect initiator connections, configure security policy, and perform common operations.

The same console also provides direct access to application management.

2. Super Target features

Version 4.0 adds enhanced target capabilities designed for enterprise use. Administrators can create advanced targets such as Multiple LUNs, RAID5, and Datacenter targets.

Multiple LUNs allows a single iSCSI target to expose one or more backing devices, which are enumerated by the initiator together after logon.

3. Optimized application methods

KernSafe iSCSI SAN improves its replication and HA applications with better multi-NIC handling to reduce split-brain scenarios, more efficient replication synchronization, improved verification logic, and better overall performance.
